It gives us more control over the level of your sedation, which is a big advantage over simply taking a pill. Using IV sedation, most patients won’t remember their procedure and time appears to fly by. An hour appointment will literally seem like just a few minutes. The medication is administered directly into the bloodstream, producing deep sedation and an unawareness of treatment. The level of sedation is highly accurate and safe, and you’ll have no memory of your visit. This method can be used for longer appointments that involve more extensive dental work, as well as to alleviate the nervousness of anxious patients.
